Clariant is one of the world’s largest chemical companies, known not only for its innovation in science and sustainability but also for its deep commitment to social responsibility. Through global initiatives supporting education, culture, arts, science, research, and community development, Clariant strives to build a better, more inclusive future for the next generation. In Pakistan, Clariant extended this mission to underprivileged children living in slum areas, believing that education is the foundation of opportunity.
To capture this meaningful initiative, Clariant partnered with ArtxPro for ideation and ArtxFilms for production and execution to create a documentary videography that would tell the story of hope, learning, and change.
Our Approach
The vision behind this documentary video production was clear: Show the real impact of education not through staged storytelling, but through authentic human experiences.
ArtxPro conceptualized the idea around “Education, Science & Research” focusing on how small acts of learning can lead to big changes in young lives while ArtxFilms brought this vision to life by designing a visual journey that blended intimacy, movement, and reality. Rather than confining the shoot to a single classroom, we wanted to show the ripple effect of how education touches children, parents, teachers, and entire communities.
The Shoot Journey
The documentary was recorded across multiple locations in Karachi’s underprivileged areas. We captured children walking to school through narrow lanes, studying in modest classrooms, and participating in fun, creative learning activities. But the real heart of the story lay outside the classroom where our cameras followed their lives beyond school walls. We visited their homes, sat with their parents for heartfelt interviews, and shot the conversations in parks and community spaces, revealing the emotional and social depth behind every child’s journey.
The documentary also featured science and research activities, where children engaged in small experiments and group discussions exploring curiosity and confidence at once. Every frame was designed to celebrate not just learning, but possibility.
The Human Connection
Many of the children had never seen a professional camera before.
At first, they were shy and hesitant, but within hours, curiosity turned into excitement. They began helping with props, sharing their drawings, and proudly reading aloud what they had learned. Those spontaneous, joyful interactions brought a natural rhythm to the documentary showing that education isn’t just about books, it’s about confidence, connection, and hope.
Result
The final documentary beautifully showcased how Clariant’s CSR initiatives are not just corporate gestures but real investments in human potential. Through the combined effort of all involved organizations, the video portrayed a powerful message that education can reshape futures even in the most under-served communities. The documentary was later used by Clariant’s global CSR division to highlight their impact in Pakistan. The video received high appreciation from international teams for its authenticity, emotion, and storytelling.
