The Project at a Glance

Crown Solar Energy is a pioneering force in Pakistan’s renewable energy sector.  It provides high-quality solar panels, inverters, and batteries to help customers reduce their electricity bills and rely on solar energy. Their objective was to transform the product presentation on the website and digital platforms to build trust and improve purchase confidence. For this purpose, they collaborated with Artxfilms for product photography and ASMR video production. The project spanned over 6 weeks, covering photography and ASMR unboxing video production.

When Crown Solar approached us, the problem wasn’t product quality; it was perception. Their products were built for long-term performance, but online, they felt like just another set of technical listings. And that’s where the friction was.

Customers weren’t just buying solar panels or batteries. They were making long-term investment decisions.

But the visuals didn’t reflect durability or craftsmanship, and felt overly technical. There was no emotional or sensory connection, so the real challenge became how to build trust and confidence in buying a high-investment technical product that they can’t physically experience.

For this project, we explored two directions:

  • A technical-first approach, focusing on product features, multiple angles, and a detailed breakdown.   
  • A premium, experience-led approach, minimal and design-focused storytelling

We went ahead with the second one, and that decision changed everything. Because we’ve seen this pattern before: People don’t trust what they don’t understand, and they also don’t buy what doesn’t feel valuable.

So instead of overwhelming users with information, we focused on creating a premium visual language, making products feel intentional, refined, and high-quality. We also drew inspiration from high-end tech brands like Apple and Tesla, because the goal wasn’t just to show the products but to elevate perception.

We started by carefully planning how each product would be experienced visually. We created a list of shots focusing on texture, surface quality, product proportion, and structure.

We also mapped out the unboxing ASMR experience to show the sensory journey and let the customers feel the product.

This phase was all about precision. Our photography setup included a Full-frame Sony A7 camera with 50mm/85mm prime lenses, used to capture high-detail, depth-focused visuals, supported by softbox lighting for even illumination, reflectors for enhanced contours, and diffusers to eliminate harsh reflections for a clean, premium finish.

ASMR + Unboxing Video Setup

For the video, the focus shifted from simply showing the product to creating a sensory experience shot on the same full-frame system for visual consistency, with tripod-based controlled movements for stability, complemented by an external condenser microphone and close-range recording to capture crisp, tactile sounds like unboxing and surface interaction. At the same time, soft directional lighting and subtle shadows were used to add depth, enhance realism, and support slow, deliberate hand movements with clean, immersive product reveals.

This is where everything came together. We maintained consistent color grading across all visuals, focusing on details to emphasize quality and finish.

In the ASMR video, we added refined cuts to give a more natural feel. A sound-first approach was adopted to let the ASMR lead the experience.

Challenge

Just as we were about to wrap up the project, the client approached us with a request for additional product shots and variants. This sudden change completely altered our plan.

The timing was tricky; we had only one week left before another out-of-town shoot was scheduled. The tight window meant we had to rethink our workflow, manage resources carefully, and ensure that every extra shot maintained the premium quality and consistency we had established throughout the project.

With time running out, we quickly prioritized the shots that mattered most. Flexible setups let us switch between products fast, while pre-planned lighting and camera setups kept the visuals consistent. Additionally, we coordinated the team in real time, streamlining tasks and making on-the-spot decisions to overcome delays, all without compromising quality or the deadline.

The collaboration immediately elevated Crown Solar’s digital presence. The Apple-inspired product images made the solar panels, solar inverters, and batteries look premium, sophisticated, and highly desirable, while the unboxing and ASMR videos attracted customers into the experience. Engagement on product pages increased, visitors spent more time exploring the products, and inquiries from potential buyers increased. More importantly, the visuals positioned Crown Solar as a brand that cares about both quality and experience, making their e-commerce presence as professional and aspirational as the products themselves.
