The Story Behind the Institution
The Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Pakistan’s leading business institute, has long been recognized for academic excellence and character development. To showcase this aspect of university life, IBA commissioned a series of documentaries and an animated documentary, conceptualized by Artxpro and produced by Artxfilms. These videos are aimed at celebrating the real IBA experience through the voices of its students.
The Purpose of the Series
The main purpose of the documentary video production was to present authentic stories of IBA’s campus life, sports, and hostel experience, highlight student diversity, teamwork, and cultural exchange, and inspire new students by showing the senior-junior mentorship culture. The video aimed to capture the vibrant environment across both the Main Campus and City Campus.
Turning Insight into Storytelling
- Concept Development
Artxpro’s ideation centered on the idea of “IBA beyond books.”
The concept emphasized that education isn’t limited to lectures and libraries; it’s also built on sportsmanship, independence, relationships, and shared experiences.
Thus, three documentary videography tracks were developed:
- Sports at IBA – The Spirit of Competition
- Hostel Life – A home away from home
- Campus Life – Every Day, a New Chapter
Plus, a short-animated video titled “The First Day” explores the bond between seniors and juniors.
Filming Across Campuses
The Artxfilms team spent weeks recording across both campuses, Main Campus and City Campus, covering real-time events, sports matches, interviews, and spontaneous student life moments.

Students shared heartfelt stories of how their journey in sports began at IBA, from early practice sessions to representing the university nationally and internationally. Coaches and faculty were shown as key enablers helping students balance academics and athletics. From badminton, football, and cricket, to inter-university events, every victory reflected not just competition, but commitment and teamwork.

In hostels, students, especially girls, shared how living on campus made them more independent and confident.
They spoke about:
- Hygienic food and lively cafeteria
- Common rooms for group discussion and relaxation
- GYM, TV lounge, mosque, and personal rooms

An Animated Story of Mentorship
The animation told a nostalgic and emotional story. A senior student remembers her first day at IBA; nervous, lost, and unsure. Years later, they became mentors themselves, guiding juniors through course registration, the medical aid room, sports grounds, and classroom routines.
The animation closed with a heartfelt moment:
“Just like someone once guided me, today I pass that light forward.”
This short video beautifully tied together IBA’s culture of support, kindness, and mentorship.

Navigating a Busy Campus Schedule
During production, a major challenge arose. IBA’s schedule was packed with real academic sessions and sports events happening simultaneously across both campuses. We had limited days to cover multiple activities, sports finals, hostel interviews, cultural events, and classroom visuals. At times, the team had to split into groups, one shooting the football ground while another shot the hostel common room, coordinating through constant calls and live updates.
Some students were initially hesitant on camera, while others had class commitments, making re-shoots difficult. The team had to direct students quickly, explaining how to act naturally and confidently within just minutes.
Despite the chaos, Artxfilms and Artxpro’s coordination turned the situation into creative momentum. The ideation team adjusted scripts on the spot to match real-time opportunities like an unexpected cricket celebration or a spontaneous group discussion. By the end of those intense shooting days, the crew had captured every essential moment, not staged but real.
That hustle became the soul of the project, a proof that authenticity always beats perfect planning.

The documentaries and animation series were launched across IBA’s digital platforms and social media, gaining high engagement and appreciation. Students and faculty praised the documentaries for being genuine, relatable, and emotionally warm.
